<description>A collection of small personal work

This is a short clip I made using Trapcode's plugin for After Effects, called Particular. The clip is featured on the Trapcode website gallery. Amazingly this has been pretty popular with 47.7K views and counting :P

This is an older test animation I created for a pitch. It was unfortunately never used, but I thought it was perhaps worth sharing so I changed the texts and animation to something more basic.

I like the technique and principle of the idea so maybe something for the future.

It was made by using some simple mattes in After Effects.

This is my entry for the five second project contest held by Greyscale Gorilla, the theme was "Pinball"

I was asked to do an animation end tag for an upcoming exhibition by Laboratory featuring Martin Parr as part of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

Here is an excerpt: "Photographer Martin Parr's exhibition Think of Finland was shot on a roadtrip from Helsinki to Oulu in August 2011. Rami Hanafi (viewmasters.fi/rami) a photographer, followed Martin during the six-day-trip and shot a making of film with Nokia N8.

Laboratory is an exhibition &#38; experiment place for artists, brands and wide audience, a new kind of a meeting point that will be visible in the creative center of Helsinki in many ways during WDC Helsinki 2012 year."

Art direction &#38; sound design by Pekka Toivonen / Kasino Creative Studio, (wearekasino.com),
Motion design by James Martin (vim-vigor.com).

Summary: Heating Loungers set into the south side of a hilly site along the waterfront in Riverdale, Bronx NY.

Beginning in January of 2011, Ninni attended a 10 week long internship in Manhattan as the exclusive assistant to the multi-faceted Nina Edwards Anker, owner of NEA studio based out of both New York and Oslo which specializes in architecture, furniture design, event design, urban infrastructures and strategic thinking.

Among many projects, perhaps the most involved was a waterfront boardwalk development on site in Riverdale, Bronx. Ninni helped to develop the concept for the entire project on elements including the boardwalk itself, the lounge chairs and a specially designed solar lamp. This was executed many ways from paper models, to material tests, to AutoCAD drawings. In addition, Ninni also created concept images using imaging and compositing software.

Here is an excerpt from nea studio's website on the project.

"Heating Loungers set into the south side of a hilly site along the waterfront in Riverdale, Bronx. The heating loungers for this resting area along the Riverdale stretch of the Bronx Greenway offer heating, wind protection, views of the Manhattan skyline, plug-ins for MP3 players and lighting. Amorphous thin-film photovoltaic panels serve as back rests while powering the LED bulbs which point at the water’s edge from under the reclaimed wooden boardwalk. The solar panels, framed in rusty steel and set into the hill at a 45 degree angle, mirror the Manhattan skyline to the south and the Palisades to the west.

The color and brightness of the lights are a function of the local temperature, signaling red when warmth is needed and blue when cooling is needed. Varying degrees of brightness indicate variances in temperature to the bikers and commuters on the neighboring rail tracks and bike path.

The lounge chairs, made of reclaimed wood and steel from the railroad site, provide heating and wind protection during the colder months when the waterfront is usually uninhabited. Rocks from the gabions at the site are enclosed in rectangular glass cases underneath the wooden surfaces of the loungers, which are heated by the rocks after midday. The rocks glow at night when the wooden surfaces are still warm after dark.

The topography of the site, formed roughly by two ‘interlocking hills’, provides heating and cooling areas which face opposite directions. A wind-sheltered heating area faces south and a shaded cooling area receives northern breezes from the river." - neastudio.com

Recently, I worked together with with Kombo in a collaboration with Nordkapp to produce a series of animations which demonstrated a new iPad touch UI campaign.

Here is a brief quote from Norkapp on the subject:
"What will happen when television meets tablet computers? SuomiTV and Nordkapp have explored the future of television and created a concept to illustrate the direction where we expect TV watching to evolve in the near future.

This concept video tells the story of our project, where we gathered inspiration from people's everyday lives and identified a brilliant opportunity for tablets. We also demonstrate our user interface concept utilizing the potential of multitouch displays."

For further details and background, see Nordkapp's blog:blog.nordkapp.fi/2010/06/tap-the-tv

I also created parts of the animated logo seen at the end of the final film, such as the animated bottle, baloons and particles. You can see the actual campaign at cokehappify.com or learn more at Wonder.
